  • Why You Need Event Uplighting At Your Wedding

Why you should add event uplighting to your budget for your wedding or any special occasion! I know, I know ... what you're thinking, why add event uplighting to the budget? You are already over budget as is so you think you can skip out on event lighting. WRONG! It's simple, you need event uplighting because you cannot create ambiance without a lighting design for the event's room. Event uplighting can be used to enhance the elegance that you seek at a wedding or give the evening a night club dance party vibe or even promote your brand or company. Event uplighting creates the ambiance of the evening and welcomes your guests into the mood you designed for them turning your event into an epic celebration and not just a nice night out. Uplighting is both the fastest and cheapest event design that can transform an empty room into an incredible event space. Color has the ability to make us feel and that is what event light design is all about. Designing event moods that create feeling for your guests to enjoy and take home with them. Ultimately, making memories that will last you and your guests for a lifetime. What is an Event Uplight? An event uplight is a light that's artistically placed to design the event space by throwing LED illumination upward on a wall or DJ stage. Event uplighting is an important detail to event design, I have already talked in great detail to what event uplighting is and if you are still wondering what it is you can also read my companies U7 Austin DJ event design page where I talk about designing your event with lighting on my website U7 Austin DJ. Otherwise, let’s look closer to why you need event uplighting at your special occasion and how much it will cost if you add it to your DJ service package. In this blog, I will take a closer look at event uplighting and hopefully answer your lighting questions by convincing you to add them to your event space. How are Event Uplighting Powered and Controlled? All professional DJ’s will have at least twelve event uplights to add to their DJ package, the best event uplights are wireless LED and are lithium battery operated with all white fixtures ( to match a wedding or formal event). Each event uplight will run eight hours on a full charge and U7 Austin DJ always charges our event uplights before a gig. Also, DJ Ram-Z controls the event uplights easily from his DJ booth via an iPad dedicated to controlling the uplighting throughout the room. Five Reasons to Have Event Uplighting at Your Special Occasion! There are many good reasons to have event uplighting at your special occasion and I have listed the top reasons below. Let’s take a look on why you should have event uplighting at your wedding or any special occasion. Event uplighting does the following; 1. Creates ambiance in the event space with or without event drapery; 2. color ties the event theme together; 3. it’s affordable; 4. you can customize the LED color; and, last but least, and 5. you can’t photoshop your guest’s memories or the bad lighting in the events photographs or videos. How Much Does Event Uplighting Cost? For a professional DJ lighting design package, U7 Austin DJ estimates that costs will begin between three hundred and get as high as a thousand dollars. Uplighting a DJ is much cheaper than lighting a band on stage and you will save money on event uplighting with hiring a professional DJ company that comes with the uplighting for the evening. Your event uplighting should be one part of you DJ service package, the ideal event lighting package should also include splash lights on the dance floor, and a laser show, so that in photos and videos, there is a balance between the event party background and focal points within the the photography and videography. Pro Tip - The dinner tables, dance floor, and DJ will be much darker than everything else in the photographs and video if you only have uplighting framing a dark room, you’ve essentially lit the perimeter of the room and will still need proper dinner table lighting like flameless candles, and a laser show for the dance floor. Event uplights should be part of a bigger event lighting package designed for the evening. Think Neutral Warm Uplighting Designing a social space with event uplighting by creating ambiance with color is do-able in any event space and all professional DJs offer uplighting packages. When it comes to adding warmth, and designing a welcoming space, I highly recommend the color amber because it is simply the most flattering live event uplighting hue on the spectrum, it add’s a romantic and intimate welcoming glow to any event space at every venue I have worked with. However, if your event lighting design is more dramatic, you can customize the wireless LED to your chosen shade, adding a splash of color up the wall of the venue to tie in your event’s theme and or promote your brand. Pro Tip - Dancing uplights that are programmed to be in sync with the DJ’s electronic music is a great lighting design for the dance party of the evening. I also recommend deep purple and blue hues when you want a nightclub vibe at the event, those colors amp up guests for the dance party portion of the evening and set the vibe for socializing. While this can be a lovely choice for a corporate function or the dance party at you wedding reception it may not be the right color scheme for an intimate cocktail hour before your ceremony or a formal dinner party. Event uplighting in more personal space should involve creating event space for conversations based around sentimental moments that translates to calming colors that soften and warm up the room or match your company theme thus, transforming the event space from ordinary to extraordinary. If you are interested in working with my electronic music entertainment company, U7 Austin DJ, you can book a consultation appointment where we can talk about event design. U7 Austin DJ can be both your wedding DJ and create an event uplighting design that will make your photos and videos pop with class and color. Along with event uplighting, U7 Austin DJ also offers: a 360 booth and event drapery. You can learn more about U7 Austin DJ and to email me you can do so at info@u7austindj.com. • 7 Characteristics of a Professional Austin Wedding DJ

With so many wedding DJ’s in Austin Texas, what does it take to be the crème de la crème in the “Live Music Capital of the World"? Weddings in the south are an epic lifetime event, folk's around here go BIG or go home, and Texan Bride and Groom's always go big (in their own way)! I don’t know how wedding DJ companies do it in other cities because I was raised in Austin Texas and my wedding DJ company U7 Austin DJ is here in the city. But, here, in the music capital, DJ's know how to bring their electronic music A game to wedding's. So, with so many great DJ's in Austin, it's no surprise that the crème de la crème of wedding DJ's all share certain characteristics in common. In order to make it in such a competitive industry, said DJ's have to come with a level of professionalism and customer service that is next level. How do I know this? I’ve been an Austin Wedding DJ long enough to have met some great wedding DJ’s here in Austin and the ones that impress me all share the same seven characteristics. What are the attributes that will make a wedding DJ stand out as a professional Austin entertainer you ask? Great question, let’s drive into what it takes to be at the top of the Austin Wedding DJ mountain of success and how couples can tell if a DJ is the right fit and “your” Austin Wedding DJ? The best wedding DJ's in Austin have: Competence Knowledge Conscientiousness Personality Respect Emotional Intelligence Inclusiveness In this blog, I would like to share with you what it takes to make it to the top as a wedding DJ and what you should be looking for when booking a wedding DJ. This post will take a closer look at the seven key characteristics that professional Austin Wedding DJ’s always have. 1. Competence “You must have confidence in your competence.” - Elijah Cummings As a professional, any wedding DJ worth their weight in salt will get the job done and done well. This level of wedding DJ professional has the skills that match the job requirements and they often produce results that exceed the expectations of their clients. A professional wedding DJ can easily provide you with the confidence of knowing you hired the right DJ company for the job. This level of DJ’ing is often booked a year in advance and that is for a good reason, they are the best of the best in the crazy competitive world of wedding DJ’ing. This level of wedding DJ’ing comes with years of knowledge on troubleshooting live event production, time management and results in a packed dance floor with unforgettable memories. A professional wedding DJ will create a dance party that keep’s you and your guests' dancing and talking about how much fun they had at your wedding long after your wedding day is over. Pro Tip - Look for 5 star reviews from past clients on third party apps like; 1. The Knot 2. WEDDINGWIRE, and 3. Zola Also, search engine profiles on google places and bing places are great insight into a wedding DJ companies work ethic and how they deal with unhappy customers. And, don’t forget to read the “bad” reviews to make sure you are comfortable and fully trust your wedding vendor to bring their A game to your important night. While, it is true, some people are negative by nature most if not ALL clients complaints are relevant and worth investigating not just as a business owner but a couple looking for the perfect wedding DJ for their big day. 2. Knowledge “Good, Better, Best, never let it rest till your Good is Better than your Best.”- Saint Jerome The best Austin Wedding DJ’s have a decade of knowledge under their belt. While that is not to say you can’t find a great newbie wedding DJ, because I’m the first to admit they do exist but they are a rare force to be reckoned with because professionalism involves digital and physical organization, time management, a crafted Master of Ceremonies skill set, and musical history knowledge to know what people are requesting and these wedding DJ skills take time to truly master as a professional. Moreover, a wedding DJ can create personalized playlists because he/she/they stay up-to-date on wedding and music trends. At every stage of a wedding DJ's career (newbie, professional and master) the DJ strives to master their Disc Jockey and MC role of the evening and continues to add to their musical library and what they already know as a professional wedding DJ. This high performing level of commitment is necessary to be the best wedding DJ that he/she/they can be and said wedding DJ will never let it rest till their personal good is better than their best. Pro Tip: An itinerary created by a professional vendor is crucial to the success of an epic wedding that is flawless and moves with grace and class throughout the event. The DJ is the background maestro that keeps the wedding on time and said DJ can not do this without a detailed itinerary of your expectations for the evening. It is always a good idea to have your wedding itinerary created by or at least approved by a professional day of coordinator or wedding planner. While creating your own itinerary might seem easy it is not and you need wedding vendor professionals that work as a team to time manage your wedding so that it stays within your budget. 3. Conscientiousness “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” - MLK My wedding DJ company, U7 Austin DJ along with other top Austin Wedding DJ’s is about conscientiousness and that involves being reliable, having high standards and a work ethic that sets the local industry bar. A wedding DJ cares about every aspect of his/her/their job and it shows. It's about being inclusive on the dance floor and well organized throughout the wedding night so said DJ can be the Master of Ceremonies that flawlessly moves from event to event with style. A top wedding DJ’s conscientiousness is second to none and he/she/they regularly follows up with the wedding planner, photographer(s) and videographer(s) throughout the night to ensure everything is going well and all the wedding vendors are on time and positioned for success. Pro Tip - A top notch wedding DJ has great communication skills. Said DJ will be available to answer your questions at any reasonable hour of the day. While the weekends might not be the best day to connect because they are working, they should still be able to manage their day in which they can give you; an email, text message or call you back when you reach out. If you find communication hard from the beginning of the vendor relationship that is a sign his/her/their customer service skills might not be on the level you need them to be for an important day such as your wedding and you should move on from booking them and book the best professional wedding DJ you can afford. There are a lot of Austin DJ’s in the wedding game and it is no easy task but will be well worth the work you put into today by finding the right fit for your wedding day tomorrow. While we are all busy, a professional wedding DJ remembers that the day is about the clients' and their guests’ happiness and not their own. Not to mention if said DJ is unhappy being a wedding DJ in Austin they should get a new job that better fits their life and not make their career, or lack of career, their clients' problem. When you pay top dollar for a professional service that is exactly what you should get — professionalism from any vendor you hire to work with at your wedding, you deserve that. 4. Personality “Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it.” - Bruce Lee To be a Master of Ceremonies you have to have a lot of personality. My favorite wedding DJ’s in Austin Texas MC weddings with charisma, they are down right likable from the second you meet them. Which I have to say makes them easy to befriend but tough competition for me because they set a high bar for the wedding industry in Austin. While I wish I could honestly say I’m the best forget the rest, the truth of the matter is Austin has the best wedding DJ’s in Texas and without a doubt the best of the best are great people in front and behind the DJ booth. I’m grateful to be part of Austin’s gig economy because the vendors I work with are creative, fun and all lead interesting lives when they aren’t making other people's dreams a reality. Pro Tip - When choosing a wedding DJ, you should choose a DJ who’s style fit’s both your personality and the wedding themes vibe. While you will find many DJ’s are interesting people, a great wedding DJ/MC will have a certain charisma that they bring to the wedding that turns the night from a sacred ceremony into an epic dance party fast and right on time. 5. Respect “Everyone should be respected as an individual, but no one idolized.” - Albert Einstein Respect is what keeps professional wedding DJ's true to their word. It also stops said DJ from compromising their values on and off the job. Respect is bound up with being honest not to just yourself but also to the people you meet within your community. This means being a role model even if your role is as party god that leads dance floor bliss on a Saturday night. A Wedding DJ comes with respect and has good manners toward everyone, not just the people the DJ “needs” to impress. What's more, a wedding DJ shows you that they truly respect other people by taking your guests' musical requests (or job if they are on the clock) into account. A Wedding DJ works with all the other vendors you have hired and helps them to position said wedding vendors for that perfect shot or an epic moment in the evening. Having respect for other fields of work within the wedding industry seems obvious yet that all to often is not the case. Pro Tip - Ask the professional opinion of the; wedding venue, wedding planner and other vendors who stands out in their mind's as the top wedding DJ’s of Austin. Most wedding venues and vendors have a preferred list of professionals that they can throw your way and all successful wedding DJ’s have created a large network around them with an impeccable reputation of five star customer service. 6. Emotional Intelligence "Diamonds are formed under pressure.” - Unknown While only one or two people get a diamond out of a wedding, it’s safe to say a wedding brings a lot of pressure to everyone involved. There is a lot of stress when your job is to live up to a (complete strangers) dream wedding day. The reality is high pressure is a major part of wedding DJ’ing. To be a top notch Austin Wedding DJ you need to stay professional even under the pressure of a Bridezilla. This takes strategic moves on the DJ's part for managing both their time and emotions. Plus, a clear awareness of other people's feelings around them. In short, being a professional wedding DJ means keeping your emotions in check, checking in with other peoples’ emotions and what their nonverbal communication is expressing to you, this is called, reading the crowd and is what a packed dance floor is made of. All great wedding DJ’s have emotional intelligence, because they keep in mind, the day isn’t about them or their favorite songs, it’s about other people and keeping the dance floor lit so the guests will keep dancing long after the wedding is over and the DJ stopped playing music. Pro Tip: Meeting your DJ in person, over Zoom or at least on the phone is crucial to hiring the right wedding DJ. There are a lot of great wedding DJ’s in Austin but trust me when I say that there are even more trainwreck divas calling themselves DJ’s that will complicate your life (not just the day of the wedding). This is a fact, so I give you fair warning when I say meet the DJ that will be at your wedding not the owner or manager of the company. It’s great to like the owner of a wedding company you hire for your big day, it’s better to like the DJ that will be MC’ing your wedding day! 7. Inclusiveness “I believe in a passion for inclusion.” - Lady Gaga All DJ’s are passionate about music but are they inclusive on the dance floor? The modern day wedding is multi-generational and multi-ethnic with less attention being given to formal tradition. Instead, more details, now in days, are given to the authenticity of the couple's love-ship and their personal love story. The best DJ's adapt to modern (or traditional) weddings by practicing inclusiveness with all the couples guests from different cultural or religious backgrounds. Being a wedding DJ means you meet all kinds of people from all over the world, that’s the fun part of the job, the beautiful people! Diversity keeps the job enjoyable and moving forward because a big part of being a professional wedding DJ is knowing what's appropriate in different situations with different kinds of niche crowds. A wedding DJ/MC with an inclusive approach will avoid awkwardness, boosts the dance floor vibes, and helps the wedding guests to feel secure to let go and have fun on the dance floor. A great Austin Wedding DJ knows not just how to DJ an epic dance party but also offers wedding event design that welcomes your guests' into your celebration in the form of romantic wedding drapery, an open aired 360 booth, and custom colored event uplighting. All these event design details add up in a way that makes your wedding guest feel included in the wedding festivities. An example of how I practice inclusiveness on the wedding dance floor is that I always try to play the song requests of persons' in wheelchairs because they always have a place on my dance floor, they belong just as much as two feet dancers and will join in by dancing in their wheelchair. All to often I have witnessed people with assistance get out of their wheelchair and dance on their feet (if only for a moment), therefore including them in the dance floor celebration by honoring their song requests is honestly a highlight of every wedding DJ’s night. It's moments like this that make the night unforgettable. Pro Tip: Ask your guests what songs will get them on the dance floor and add those song requests to your MUST PLAY LIST section on the DJ questionnaire so that said DJ can come prepared with your wedding crowd pleasers. Every wedding is different and some of your guests might be old friends of the family or distant relatives that you might not know very well. So asking “your people” what makes them shake their tail feathers is a great way to keep them entertained and enjoying your celebration to the fullest. Lastly, in all my years as an Austin DJ I believe that a truly professional wedding DJ will gain your confidence immediately after your consultation with them, if you have doubts you should trust your instincts and continue to look for what feels right to you. I have met many awesome professional DJ’s here in the Austin area and I assure you their is an elite group of professional DJ's that brings their A game every time. Ultimately, the wedding DJ you hire for your big day should impress you with what they are doing now, but also show that he/she/they are eager to do it better and achieve more. Thus, when it’s all said and done your wedding day is about the two of you and celebrating your unique, one of a kind, love story, so choosing professional vendors for your wedding will ensure to keep the day focused on the two of you becoming one. Note to reader... The above picture is of a wedding after party and I had been asked to go casual at the venue. This goes without saying, a wedding DJ should have the formal suit to meet the dress code for the night, even in a city that keeps it weird.

  • Why You Should Hire a Wedding DJ

Think you can’t afford to hire a wedding DJ? Think again! You can’t afford NOT to hire a wedding DJ. The Master of Ceremonies is the heartbeat of an unforgettable wedding celebration. Over the years of being a wedding DJ, I have ran across random Instagram posts where someone is talking about saving money at their wedding by not hiring a professional DJ, instead they want to have a homemade playlist on a smart device hooked up to a speaker. In their mind, a wedding DJ will, set up a couple of speakers, and hit play on a laptop. Yes, as a wedding DJ, I do do that, but there is a mountain of pre-wedding work that a professional DJ has to climb before the day of the event, not to mention during the day of the wedding. While it is true they will be saving money on their wedding, there are major (and very practical) drawbacks to not hiring a wedding DJ. The fact of the matter is, these couples aren’t seeing the wedding DJ’s worth. What people can’t usually see is the amount of experience the DJ comes with coupled with the expensive equipment a professional DJ has acquired over the years and brings to the wedding venue. The DJ gear alone can easily be several thousands of dollars (or more if you add the 360 booth and event uplighting). Add in decades of on the job training at audio troubleshooting and you can clearly see why these two facts alone make a professional wedding DJ priceless. When you compare these facts to the portable speaker and laptop these people have imagined, you can see that they aren't seeing the wedding DJ’s worth as the master of ceremonies. This is a wedding rookie mistake but it’s most likely their first marriage thus first time planning a wedding and I’m going to let them off the hook. In reality, a professional DJ is the glue that holds the wedding day together for 8 hours because as the master of ceremonies, the DJ keeps the timeline of the itinerary on point, they keep the guests entertained with dancing and the evening flowing on time by hyping the guests and redirecting them to each new event within the evening. In fact, the wedding DJ just might be the most important vendor you have at your wedding because the DJ will work directly with your wedding planner to help keep the evening on track with all the highlights that you have planned for your wedding guests. The wedding DJ is the background maestro that will announce the bridal party entrance into the reception, let the; guests, photographers, and videographers know when the cake is going to be cut, and announcing the last song of the evening before the couples sparkler send off into the night. These are all priceless moments you can’t get back and a wedding DJ is behind it all conducting the event and curating the perfect blend of songs for each moment. Today, I’m going to blog about why you should hire a wedding DJ for your big day, even if you decide not to hire my company, U7 Austin DJ. In fact, I believe even if the wedding DJ company you choose is less experienced than I am you should still hire them for the job because having a professional DJ at your wedding is worth every hard earned penny. Let me begin my case by saying, I believe a professional DJ is one of the most important vendors you will work with at your wedding and my goal in this post is to prove it to you by starting at the beginning, which for a professional wedding DJ is weeks before the day of the wedding. Firstly, a wedding DJ will spend a lot of time working on creating a master playlist of 100’s of songs for the day of the wedding, making sure he/she/they have the right sub-genre(s) of music, your favorite songs and that all of it is digitally organized with order. A professional wedding DJ will spend roughly 10 to 15 hours prepping all the music for the wedding day. When you add that to the day of the event, your 8 hour wedding day equals about 20 to 25 hours of total work for the professional wedding DJ. If you also add in other services such as; event up-lighting, a 360 booth, lasers or drapery, that said DJ will have quite a bit more hours of pre and post event workload for a 8 hour wedding. Furthermore, a professional DJ is the master of ceremonies for your wedding day. As the MC of the evening, a professional DJ will set the pace of the wedding processional and recessional. The DJ will sound check the equipment and mic your officiant before the event begins and your guests are starting to be seated. A professional wedding DJ will work at both; song selection and as the sound tech running the audio through the speaker system for guests to hear all the way in the back. All while transitioning in between songs during the ceremony flawlessly, which in return helps to keep the officiant on point and the sacred ceremony flowing and running on time. I still haven’t convinced you? If you are still asking the question, “should I hire a DJ or just hook up a smart device playlist of music to a speaker”, than I have created a pro’s and con’s list, to prove my point that a wedding DJ is more than just worthy of a slice of your wedding budget but is the conductor of an epic wedding dance party. Let’s dive into the list of pros and the cons of not hiring a professional DJ as Master of Ceremonies for your wedding day: Pros of not hiring a wedding DJ It is much cheaper and you save money. You can control the entire playlist of songs by creating it yourself. It will be less of a dance party and more of a simple get together with loved ones. Dancing is against your religion or cultural belief system. You hate having fun and getting sweaty with your friends from dancing all night. You don’t want to live in the moment with the people you love most. You would rather be seen as hot in photos and not as a hot mess that had the time of her/his/their life and got caught up in a happy dance floor moment and let go. Marrying your best friend is not a time for celebration or fun! Cons of not hiring a wedding DJ No personality, a master of ceremonies brings the hype and energy to the dance floor and supplies the wedding vibe while the music set’s the mood for the different parts of the evening. No expert to advice you on music. You will have to do the work yourself and you might not have the time or energy to go song hunting and create multiple playlists for the evening. If something goes wrong with the audio, you’re in charge of troubleshooting problems. No wireless microphone on the officiant or soloist and your guests might not hear the ceremony in the back of the venue without a proper ceremony PA system to assist. No handheld microphone for speeches from family and friends or blessing of the meal at dinner. No transition of songs or fading of music so you will have dead air in between playlists and events throughout the evening. Smart devices aren’t that smart (yet), someone will still need to push play and stop on the device for electronic music during the wedding processional and recessional during the ceremony and throughout the evening which is usually 8 hours. No announcing the entrance of the bridal party, first dance as Mr. and Mrs., last call, cake cutting and the couples send off at the end of the evening. No light show or lasers on the dance floor to create the mood. No uplighting programmed to dance with the music and create a fun playful vibe on the dance floor. No photo or 360 video booth to create reels for your guests social media. No one will be able to change the direction in the music for the evening if the reception gets stale and no one is dancing. No one to help push the event along by directing the guests and vendors if the event runs behind your itinerary. The other vendors at your wedding will have a hard time with the timeline without a DJ directing them with music and announcements of new events throughout the evening. So, if you still think you don’t have the budget to hire a professional wedding DJ, think again, you can’t afford to not hire a wedding DJ. You will need a master of ceremonies on your big day and your smart device can not read the crowd, blend the best part of the songs, direct your guests all while mixing in your guests song requests on the fly to keep the dance floor happy, fun, and dancing into the night. Lastly, like all wedding vendors, professional wedding DJ’s come in all sorts of; prices, production ranges, talents, personalities and levels of DJ experience. So, I highly advice you to make sure the professional DJ you choose for the evening matches your wedding theme as well as your style as a couple. You can’t photoshop a boring wedding or edit your guests memories, so if you are on the fence about hiring a wedding DJ, I highly advice you to rethink your budget and move forward with reserving your date with the most professional wedding DJ you can afford because as the master of ceremonies a wedding DJ sets the mood of the evening and that makes a professional wedding DJ one of the most priceless vendors you will work with on your wedding day. U7 Austin DJ Electronic Music "DJ'ing goes as far back as the late 1970's but I've been DJ'ing electronic music since the late 1990's." - DJ Ram-Z While I have only been DJ'ing since the nineties, the beginning of DJ'ing electronic music can be traced back in American history to the disco era of the late 1970's. Disco's enchanted the urban jungle's of The States by the masses, creating hype, moving crowds on the dance floor, using drum machines, electronic instruments to create synthesized rhythms and turn strangers into community long after the music stops and the dawn of Sunday morning begins. In modern day terms we call that a Saturday night downtown. Disco's gave us the club vibe we know today and no disco club did more for the scene than Studio 54 in New York. Still, in modern days, your vibe attracts your tribe and that same dance club vibe of the disco is the staple of even the most intimate special occasions like a wedding even if only for the last few hours of the evening. U7 Austin DJ U7 Austin DJ has been a DJ in Austin Texas since the late 1990's. I didn't start my career as a professional Austin DJ, in the beginning DJ'ing was just for fun. Becoming the background maestro that conducts epic dance parties for weddings and company parties throughout central Texas came after decades of "on the job training" in my youth. With years of experience, my electronic music library has expanded to well over two terebytes and it's possible I have heard your favorite song. I've matured, both as a professional Austin DJ and as a local small business owner. Through time and hard work, U7 Austin DJ has grown from the ground up to become a leader in first class DJ service. Humble Austin Wedding DJ Beginnings My love for being an Austin DJ started in the grimy downtown streets long before Austin was nicknamed ATX. Growing up in Austin, I got my start DJ'ing private parties in abandoned warehouses, underground rave parties , hot summer boat parties on Lake Travis, local fundraisers and eventually I moved up to having residencies in top downtown night clubs. DJing in clubs came to an end during the pandemic but through Covid-19 I leveled up my small DJ business and U7 Austin DJ was born and I've had the pleasure of DJ'ing Austin weddings all over the city! I am grateful for my humble beginnings as a local DJ to currently, full time professional wedding (and corparate) DJ and owner of U7 Austin DJ. How far I have come from my early days as a downtown club kid, DJing the underground scene is a testament to my passion for DJing electronic music .
